Once a fishing village, Sai Kung, located in the New Territories, has a large expat community. Sai Kung town includes a number of amenities, seafood restaurants, western eateries and pubs and a pier from which you can take local sampans.

Somewhat secluded, the closest shopping centre, Shatin, is a 20-minute drive away; Sai Kung is connected by a number of buses and minibuses including those that go to Mongkok and Causeway Bay.  There are several ways to get to Central, including taking the MTR from Hang Hau or Choi Hung; travel to Central takes around 45-60 minutes.
